Welcome,
Here you
will find posts about my travels and the foods that I have happily discovered
while visiting different countries, absorbing their culture. It may be
something that others have done before me but I sincerely believe that everyone
sees and experiences things differently. The countries I have travelled are
numerous and while many places were visited when I was much younger, there are
a few clear memories that I wish to share as well as some countries and cities
that I have recently visited.
One of
my first memories of being abroad takes place in Ireland, Dublin specifically,
where we would go to visit family every so often. Dinners including special
dinners at Halloween and Christmas are very clear in my memory but so is one of
my favourite places: Victor’s Way in county Wicklow. There are other
countries which I remember clearly such as Denmark, Italy and parts of Spain
but oddly enough, I remember the food the most. I find that unless I walk
around with my camera in my hand, I have difficulty remembering some parts of
my travels. It is the food I remember almost more than anything else and I can
see that the food may be what I write most about. But not necessarily in the
way that a food critic writes about a dish...no I will write about the
particular dishes and memories with a tone of awe which I still feel at times
and perhaps a sigh of sentiment. Although I have name this blog 'An Adventure
I'm Sharing', I will write about places which have been well travelled and
explored and with the adventure being all mine but I want to share the
experience as I feel that perhaps it will encourage others to see things the
way I have seen them or to taste food the way I have tasted food. Indeed, there
are some cities, landmarks and countries which have brought awe and interest to
many but perhaps, as the years go by and the memories start to fade, we, or I,
have forgotten what the world can offer, both in terms of what nature gives and
what humans can give too. Later travels include places such as La Panne
(Belgium), Jordan and Morocco; all of which have been an absolute pleasure to
visit and explore.
Just
note, that while I write freely and without much constriction, I will not delve
into the details of my personal life; that said, I believe that if I hold back
too much information, there is a risk of missing out some details which are
essential to the memories I hold.
More
later but in the meantime, explore with bright eyes and an open heart.
